Job Overview

This position involves operating a haul truck with a capacity of approximately 35 tons to transport materials. You may also operate heavy equipment under the direction of a supervisor. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining awareness of OSHA and MSHA regulations, performing pre-trip inspections, and working as part of a team to ensure a smooth and safe operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ability to detect safety hazards and equipment malfunctions and respond accordingly.
  • Maintain and safely operate heavy equipment, including haul trucks, water trucks, dump trucks, dredges, track hoes, frontend loaders, and skid steer loaders.
  • Understand and follow directions.
  • Perform welding and fabrication tasks as needed.
  • Assist with miscellaneous duties, such as general labor, shoveling, equipment maintenance, and assisting foreperson and crew members as requested by the Plant Manager/Superintendent/Foreperson.
  • Ensure that the crusher is fed consistently while maintaining all safety regulations at quarry locations.

  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
  • Be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
  • Be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
  • Report to the assigned job site ready to begin work at the designated start time.
  • Adhere to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Manual of Safety Practices and Procedures.

Qualifications

To execute this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and experience less than or equal to a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior heavy equipment experience, including crushing operations, is helpful.

Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per year
