Key Responsibilities

Ensure that the production process is adequately supplied with all necessary materials to meet operational goals.
  • Arrive at work punctually and prepared for every scheduled shift.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while performing tasks.
  • Deliver raw materials, components, and supplies to designated manufacturing areas to ensure continuous operation.
  • Move finished products, containers, and packaging materials to and from specified locations.
  • Load and unload materials, including steel coils and in-process items, into production zones. Manage the removal and proper disposal of scrap materials.
  • Safely operate mobile equipment, such as forklifts, and conduct inspections and maintenance as needed.
  • Ensure all materials and finished products are stored correctly and labeled with appropriate documentation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in both shop floor and storage areas, including the disposal of scrap and pallets.
  • Prepare products for shipment, including packing, labeling, and generating necessary documentation.
  • Handle the loading and unloading of products and materials from incoming and outgoing transport vehicles, verifying accuracy against shipping documents.
  • Conduct inventory counts as necessary and ensure proper storage of items in designated areas.
  • Maintain accurate records for shipping, receiving, and materials management as required.
  • Report any issues or concerns to the supervisor promptly, reflecting the urgency of the situation.
  • Follow all operational instructions for assigned tasks.
  • Process incoming steel receipts into the inventory management system.
  • Utilize overhead cranes for the movement of steel materials.
  • Complete all relevant paperwork associated with the role, including checklists, inspection sheets, labor records, and quality assurance documentation.
  • Fulfill any other reasonable requests from management.
  • Be available for overtime as needed, including weekends.
  • Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Qualifications

Experience:

• Previous experience in material handling or forklift operation is preferred.

Skills:
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to follow directions from supervisors and team leaders.
  • Capability to perform well under pressure.
  • Basic math skills.
Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.

• Must successfully complete Material Handler Certification training.
