Position Overview:
As a vital member of the Chapters Health System, the Registered Nurse at the Hospice House plays a crucial role in delivering compassionate care to patients and their families. This position involves working on a DAY shift, focusing on providing exceptional support and ensuring the highest standards of patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Assess and identify the needs of patients and their families, utilizing the nursing process to develop a comprehensive Plan of Care in collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Group (IDG).
2. Deliver palliative and supportive care, addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients during their end-of-life journey.
3. Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the disease process, palliative interventions, and safety practices to enhance their understanding and comfort.
4. Monitor and report changes in patient conditions to the IDG and other healthcare professionals, ensuring timely interventions.
5. Participate in the evaluation of hospice referrals and admissions, ensuring appropriateness of care levels.
6. Provide bereavement support to families and caregivers, working closely with psychosocial staff.

Qualifications:
- Current Florida RN license or an active multistate/compact nurse license.
- Minimum of one year of nursing experience in a hospital or hospice setting.
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to manage the emotional demands of caring for terminally ill patients.
- Current BLS certification for healthcare professionals.

Physical Requirements:
This role requires the ability to perform essential functions, including lifting, bending, and managing patient care equipment. Flexibility in scheduling is necessary to meet the needs of patients.
