About the Role

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at our state-of-the-art Mentor Hospital. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures, working closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and registered nurses to provide high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing the operating room for surgical procedures, including setting up equipment and supplies.
  • Help maintain a sterile environment during procedures, ensuring the safety of patients and staff.
  • Pass instruments to surgeons and assistants during procedures, following proper technique and protocols.
  • Participate in the intraoperative 'timeout' to ensure patient safety and accuracy.
  • Collect and label specimens removed during surgical procedures, following proper protocols.
Requirements
  • Completion of a surgical technology program accredited through the CAAHEP or ABHES, or completion of a military surgical technology program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Preferred certification as a Surgical Technologist (TS-C or CST).
Working Conditions

This role requires working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids. The ability to lift and move patients, as well as push and pull supply carts, is also required.
