The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role at NewGround, collaborating closely with the Accounting Manager on all aspects of Corporate Finance. This includes budgeting and forecasting, financial reporting and analysis, month-end close, and audit/tax compliance. This individual will work closely with the Accounting Manager and frequently with the Controller and CFO to ensure NewGround's finance operations run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Reporting and Analysis: Assist the Accounting Manager with routine accounting activities and reporting, including month-end close, financial statements, profitability analysis, and variance to budget.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with operational leaders to maintain the company forecast for each business unit, understanding the financial impact of projects throughout the organization.
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Work with the Accounting Manager and other finance team members to achieve process improvements and automation within the ERP system.
- Compliance and Audit: Assist with the annual audit and tax processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Industry Knowledge: Obtain an understanding of the architecture and construction industry, seeing projects at all stages from idea to completion.
- ERP System Expertise: Get firsthand experience working within an ERP system, providing input and having a direct impact on new processes and automation.
- Leadership Exposure: Direct exposure to and routine communication with Controller, CFO, and operational leadership.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- Experience: 2-3 years of experience in accounting/finance roles, with experience with Microsoft products and CPA and public accounting (audit) experience preferred.
