At University Hospitals, we are seeking a skilled LPN Orthopedics Mentor to join our team. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will provide safe, efficient, and age-specific nursing care to patients and their families, utilizing the nursing process to help them achieve optimal health status.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Function in accordance with the professional standards of the Ohio Board of Nursing.
  • Complete and submit required documentation.
  • Deliver effective relationship-based nursing care.
  • Demonstrate technical skills in care delivery that result in safe practice and positive care outcomes.
  • Demonstrate clear communication and effective collaboration to optimize patient care and clinical operations.
  • Develop self and contribute to the professional practice of nursing.
  • Display leadership that influences optimal clinical and operational outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited practical nurse program or current enrollment in a nursing program.
  • 2+ years of nursing experience (Level II only).
  • Knowledge of LPN scope of practice according to the Ohio Board of Nursing.
  • Ability to use a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies.

Level II Requirements:

  • 18 CNEs per year.
  • 3 CNEs in clinical specialty.
  • At least 5 CNEs in Leadership.
  • Committee involvement.
  • 5 criteria with evidence of each.

Physical Demands:

  • Standing frequently.
  • Walking frequently.
  • Lifting frequently (50 lbs).
  • Carrying frequently (50 lbs).
  • Pushing frequently (50 lbs).
  • Pulling frequently (50 lbs).

Travel Requirements:
