We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Albany Medical Center. As a key member of our surgical services team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Responsibilities- Assess and manage patients with complex surgical needs, including ordering diagnostic tests and developing treatment plans.
- Collaborate with attending physicians, primary nurses, and other healthcare providers to provide family-centered care.
- Develop and apply specialty practice standards to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Conduct patient assessments, complete physical examinations, and collect clinical data, including vital signs and laboratory results.
- Administer medications, perform minor surgery, and provide education to patients and families.
- Serve as a resource and team leader during clinical shifts, ensuring the smooth flow of patient processing, treatment, and discharge.
- Mentor new staff and physician assistant students.
- Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Successful completion and maintenance of ACLS and BLS certifications.
- Ability to quickly master computerized medical recordkeeping and billing systems.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- HIPAA compliance at all times.
- ATLS certification.
- BCLS certification.
This role requires standing, walking, and frequent lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively is essential.
