Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician II will perform high-level compounding and dispensing tasks, serve as a resource for pharmacy technicians, and assist pharmacists in performing technical or patient care functions to enhance efficiency and patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform high-level compounding and dispensing tasks, including preparing and labeling medications
- Assist pharmacists in performing technical or patient care functions, such as verifying patient information and processing prescriptions
- Serve as a resource for pharmacy technicians, providing guidance and support as needed
- Participate in training and education programs to enhance skills and knowledge
- Contribute to a team environment, working collaboratively with pharmacists, technicians, and other healthcare professionals to achieve departmental goals and objectives
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; college courses desirable but not mandatory
- Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) required; Maryland certification preferred
- 3 years of pharmacy experience or currently enrolled as pharmacy/medical school student
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
