Ingram Barge Company is on the lookout for a dedicated Mechanic to become a vital part of our team. This position offers a dynamic work environment where each day presents new challenges, including welding, inspections, and chassis repairs.
Your primary responsibility will be the upkeep and repair of a fleet of chassis, which encompasses both welding and mechanical repairs on containers. A solid understanding of mechanical systems and welding techniques is essential to maintain the equipment in optimal condition.
Key Responsibilities:- Conducting regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs on chassis.
- Identifying and resolving mechanical issues.
- Performing welding repairs on containers and chassis as required.
- Ensuring a clean and organized workspace.
- Adhering to safety protocols and company policies to guarantee efficient operations.
- Executing additional tasks as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 0-2 years of relevant experience; experience in the marine industry is advantageous.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and skills are expected.
- Fundamental proficiency in welding techniques.
- Capability to operate various hand and power tools.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Welding certification is beneficial but not mandatory.
