Job Overview

Ingram Barge Company is on the lookout for a dedicated Mechanic to become a vital part of our team. This position offers a dynamic work environment where each day presents new challenges, including welding, inspections, and chassis repairs.

Your primary responsibility will be the upkeep and repair of a fleet of chassis, which encompasses both welding and mechanical repairs on containers. A solid understanding of mechanical systems and welding techniques is essential to maintain the equipment in optimal condition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs on chassis.
  • Identifying and resolving mechanical issues.
  • Performing welding repairs on containers and chassis as required.
  • Ensuring a clean and organized workspace.
  • Adhering to safety protocols and company policies to guarantee efficient operations.
  • Executing additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience; experience in the marine industry is advantageous.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and skills are expected.
  • Fundamental proficiency in welding techniques.
  • Capability to operate various hand and power tools.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Welding certification is beneficial but not mandatory.
