Responsibilities:

  • Provides superior clinical support and assisting to doctors and hygienists, including charting, patient education, and operatory setup and cleanup.
  • Manages patient flow, prioritizes next operatory room for doctors, and updates doctors on patient status.
  • Welcomes and greets patients in the reception area and provides a personal introduction.
  • Takes and processes X-rays.
  • Performs patient hand-offs and enters and updates patient treatment plans at the direction of the treating doctor.
  • Verifies patient clinical service needs were exceeded and takes appropriate action when visits do not meet expectations.
  • Escorts patients to check-out and completes sterilization processes for equipment and operatory.
  • Maintains emergency kits and first aid supplies, emergency medications, and oxygen tank.
  • Follows maintenance schedules for the processor, autoclave, and compressor.
  • Identifies, reports, and follows up on any maintenance issues in the office.
  • Maintains and updates the MSDS binder and follows OSHA regulations and MFSD safety requirements.
  • Maintains and updates annual CE requirements as specified by the state.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year job-related experience, 5 years or more dental experience preferred.
  • Sedation training preferred.
  • State requirements where specified.
