Job Overview:
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness within the facility. This role involves a variety of cleaning tasks and some administrative responsibilities as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough cleaning of rooms and common areas, including dusting and sanitizing surfaces.
- Manage linens by sorting, counting, folding, and transporting them as needed.
- Prepare beds by turning mattresses and making them up with fresh linens.
- Rearrange furniture and hang drapes as required.
- Polish metal fixtures and maintain porcelain bathroom amenities.
- Conduct spot cleaning of walls and windows to ensure a pristine environment.
- Empty waste receptacles and dispose of trash appropriately.
- Remove soiled linens for laundering and restock room supplies.
- Report any maintenance needs for equipment, furniture, or facilities to the supervisor.
- May assist in providing services to adults with developmental disabilities.
Qualifications:
Education: A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred, with additional training in housekeeping operations being advantageous.
Experience: A minimum of three years of general work experience is preferred. Candidates should possess the ability to read and write in English to follow written procedures and communicate effectively.
Skills: Bilingual abilities are preferred. Experience working with adults with disabilities is also a plus.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of a drug screening and a government background check.
- Reliable transportation is necessary.
- Ability to work with various cleaning chemicals safely.
- Physical capability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs regularly.
- Must be able to perform tasks such as squatting, reaching, kneeling, and climbing occasionally.
