JOB SUMMARY
Act as LifeLinc's On-Site Anesthesiologist, undertaking a diverse array of responsibilities that encompass both administrative and clinical functions.

Case Mix:
All specialties excluding cardiac

Schedule: 26 weeks on/26 weeks off

Responsibilities:

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Administrative Duties:
The MDA is expected to collaborate effectively as a team member to achieve the organization’s goals and objectives.

Participate in Medical Staff meetings and relevant Department and Hospital Administrative meetings.

Engage in administrative decision-making and endorse policies and procedures.

Provide the Hospital with insights regarding budgetary, administrative, and patient care issues pertinent to the Department.


The MDA will serve as a liaison among hospital physicians, CRNAs, staff, vendors, funding sources, and other departments as necessary.

Oversee departmental performance, including adherence to contractually obligated performance metrics.

Establish staffing criteria as needed.

Contribute to the Hospital's quality assurance initiatives as requested.

Develop standards for continuity of care and case management.


Stay informed about regulations from the American Society of Anesthesiologists and ensure compliance at local, state, and federal levels.

Deliver a monthly departmental status report highlighting key performance indicators related to anesthesia and surgical patient throughput.

Clinical Duties:
Ensure sufficient anesthesia staffing to provide clinical, medical, and administrative leadership support across the organization.

Administer anesthetics or sedation during medical procedures.


Educate students and staff on anesthesia administration techniques, recognizing complications, and emergency response methods.

Provide medical care and consultation in various settings, including prescribing medications and treatments.

Offer clinical support and patient care to assist the anesthesia team as required.

Maintain current policies and procedures established by LifeLinc and propose new, efficient policies when necessary.

Conduct clinical reviews and audits of services provided by other practitioners employed by LifeLinc as applicable.

Responsible for the training and oversight of all clinical staff and personnel as applicable.

Communication:


Engage with Hospital administration periodically regarding the organization and management of the Department to enhance its public service capabilities, efficiency, and quality of medical care.

Maintain dedicated administrative office hours and be accessible via email and phone when not present at the Hospital.

Collaborate with peers to obtain necessary information promptly and resolve outstanding issues as appropriate.

Foster a positive team environment by assisting colleagues, sharing ideas, and engaging in problem-solving with co-workers.

Language Skills:
Must possess the ability to read and write in English.

Ability to interpret documents such as safety regulations, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.

Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence.


Capable of effectively presenting information in one-on-one and small group settings to supervisors, patients, families, and other employees.

Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.

Reasoning Ability:


Ability to tackle practical problems and manage a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.

Ability to interpret various instructions provided in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:
To excel in this role, an individual should possess general computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.

Education and Experience:


Must be a graduate of an accredited medical school specializing in anesthesia with a current, valid license to practice in the state of employment.


Additional Qualifications:
ACLS/BLS/PALS Certification
