Yard Jockey

Job Summary:

As a Yard Jockey, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our loading dock. You will take direction from our Shipping Supervisor or lead to accomplish set shipping goals, utilizing a forklift to load trucks, supply packaging materials, and transport product to and from the shipping areas. This position requires strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Load and unload trucks in a safe and efficient manner
• Stage product and inspect shipping tags and documents for accuracy
• Perform general cleaning of loading dock areas
• Assist in training of co-workers as directed
• Ensure compliance with established food safety programs, including HACCP programs, SSOPs, and GMPs
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment

Requirements:

• Ability to obtain a forklift operator's license
• Ability to work in cold and hot temperatures
• Ability to multitask and work quickly
• Must be able to lift 50-75 lbs
• Must wear PPE as designated by company policy

Preferred Qualifications:

• Forklift operator experience preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
