Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled Operating Room Surgical Aide to join our team in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.
As an Operating Room Surgical Aide, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe environment for quality patient care. You will work under the direct supervision of registered professional nurses and collaborate with other members of the surgical team to ensure each operating room is clean and equipped with necessary instruments and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Transport patients to and from the operating room and other locations.
- Assist nursing staff in the rooms as needed, including positioning and transfer of anesthetized patients, holding extremities for surgical prep, gathering equipment, etc.
- Perform between-case cleaning to minimize turnaround time between surgical procedures.
- Check status of stretchers to ensure they are ready and available for patient transport.
- Clean operating room equipment according to established infection control policies and procedures.
- Run errands as needed and directed by registered professional nurses and/or charge nurses.
- Determine specific waste type for proper disposal of O.R. trash.
- Communicate pertinent information regarding patient care concerns to appropriate personnel.
- CPR training required.
- Satisfactory references.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good physical dexterity.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and non-verbal.
We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience, plus excellent benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and employee assistance programs.
