Position Overview

The New Brunswick Counseling Center, a recognized non-profit organization accredited by CARF, is in search of a dedicated and experienced Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to deliver essential psychiatric services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to established standards and protocols for psychiatric and medical care provided to clients.
  • Deliver direct client services, including comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Engage collaboratively with multidisciplinary staff involved in the provision of psychiatric or medical services, participating actively in critical case discussions.
  • Conduct regular meetings with program staff to monitor and discuss client progress.
  • Offer consultative and educational support to team members regarding client care and relevant psychiatric knowledge.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of professional services in compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
  • Utilize the agency's electronic health record system efficiently.
  • Assist clients in navigating disability, housing, and transportation entitlement applications.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the program's objectives.

Qualifications:

  • A Master's Degree in a relevant field and a current, valid professional license.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in providing direct patient care.
  • Possession of prescriptive authority is required.

Licenses/Certifications Required:

  • Valid license to practice in the State of New Jersey.
