About the Role
The Director of Marketing and Publicity will be responsible for crafting engaging marketing materials, developing strategic plans, and spearheading marketing efforts to promote the Department of Music and Dance's academic programs, concerts, special events, and projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Marketing Strategy and Execution
- Develop and implement marketing plans to promote the Department's programs and events
- Collaborate with the Department's Admissions and Recruitment Director to design and develop recruiting materials
- Manage social media presence and create engaging content
- Grant Writing and Fundraising
- Research and write grants to secure funding for special events and programs
- Develop and manage budgets for marketing initiatives
- Team Management
- Supervise one staff member and 1-5 student employees
- Collaborate with the Department's Director of Admissions and the College of Humanities and Fine Arts (HFA) Director of Marketing and Communications
Requirements
- Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Humanities, Fine Arts, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
- Experience
- At least four years' experience in marketing, event planning, and social media
- Skills
- Knowledge of content management systems (HTML, CSS, and other common languages)
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the performing arts such as music, dance, and/or theater
