Position Overview: We are looking for a meticulous and empathetic Appeals Coordinator to become a part of a reputable Healthcare Company. In this capacity, you will be tasked with the critical role of evaluating and managing appeals and grievances submitted by patients and healthcare providers, ensuring timely resolution in compliance with regulatory standards.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review and validate documentation submitted for appeal eligibility.
- Organize and prioritize appeals for input into the system following departmental procedures.
- Accurately enter appeal and claim details into the appeals management system.
- Attach all necessary documentation to the appropriate case files.
- Communicate any special handling instructions for each appeal as needed.
- Maintain established production standards and monitor error rates.
- Provide assistance and support to colleagues as required.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations in all communications and processing tasks.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Typing proficiency of 40 words per minute.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to conduct paperless data entry efficiently.
- Independent problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Capability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills.
Compensation: Pay rate is $16/hr, commensurate with experience. This position is temporary to hire, with the opportunity to transition to remote work once permanent.
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
