Job Overview:
The Traffic Management Specialist is responsible for efficiently coordinating and scheduling drivers for pick-up and delivery operations, ensuring safety and timeliness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate driver schedules for pick-up and delivery, optimizing routes for efficiency.
- Adhere to Fuel Solutions Requirements, directing drivers to designated fuel stations when necessary.
- Manage equipment availability, assigning drivers and vehicles as needed.
- Consolidate orders into full truckloads for specific delivery points.
- Anticipate and communicate potential weather-related delays and necessary route adjustments.
- Maintain communication with drivers via radio or phone, providing assistance and emergency support as required.
- Review and maintain billing and operational records, ensuring accuracy in daily logs.
- Monitor drivers' hours to comply with federal and state regulations.
- Oversee vehicle maintenance and repair schedules.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
- Strong organizational skills for effective route preparation and assignment.
- Leadership skills to ensure adherence to directives and assignments.
- Basic knowledge of geographical areas and mapping tools for efficient routing.
- Proficient in dispatch and recordkeeping systems or quick to learn.

- Comprehensive understanding of the shipping industry.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate's degree in Transportation, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience in warehouse or freight operations is required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
- Must be capable of lifting up to 15 pounds occasionally.
