Job Overview:

The Traffic Management Specialist is responsible for efficiently coordinating and scheduling drivers for pick-up and delivery operations, ensuring safety and timeliness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate driver schedules for pick-up and delivery, optimizing routes for efficiency.
  • Adhere to Fuel Solutions Requirements, directing drivers to designated fuel stations when necessary.
  • Manage equipment availability, assigning drivers and vehicles as needed.
  • Consolidate orders into full truckloads for specific delivery points.
  • Anticipate and communicate potential weather-related delays and necessary route adjustments.
  • Maintain communication with drivers via radio or phone, providing assistance and emergency support as required.
  • Review and maintain billing and operational records, ensuring accuracy in daily logs.
  • Monitor drivers' hours to comply with federal and state regulations.
  • Oversee vehicle maintenance and repair schedules.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

  • Basic knowledge of geographical areas and mapping tools for efficient routing.

  • Comprehensive understanding of the shipping industry.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate's degree in Transportation, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience in warehouse or freight operations is required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 15 pounds occasionally.
