Vice President of Engineering

The Vice President of Engineering at PICA Manufacturing Solutions will spearhead the hardware design, software development, quality assurance, and testing across various product lines. This pivotal role is essential for driving technical excellence, fostering innovation, and facilitating growth within the Internet of Things (IoT) remote monitoring sector.
The VPE will oversee a team of approximately 15-20 professionals, leveraging additional resources from international locations. PICA Manufacturing Solutions is renowned for its expertise in manufacturing electronic components for diverse applications, including consumer electronics and medical devices. The company operates a manufacturing facility and an engineering procurement office, ensuring a fully integrated approach to product development.
PICA's product offerings include advanced IoT solutions aimed at both commercial and consumer markets, such as innovative monitoring systems for pest control and maritime safety. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire the engineering teams to deliver high-quality hardware and software products that meet design specifications and timelines.
- Foster talent development within the product teams, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and strategic guidance.
- Ensure consistency in user experience and product quality across all offerings.
- Provide the necessary resources and tools to empower the engineering teams for success.
- Continuously refine processes and methodologies to enhance product development efficiency.
- Integrate the latest advancements in sensing, communication, and IoT technologies to elevate product value and competitive differentiation.
- Manage and allocate product development budgets effectively to align with business objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering management, focusing on hardware, firmware, and software development.
- Proven experience in creating consumer-oriented mobile applications.
Essential Skills
- Exceptional organizational capabilities.
- Proficiency in various programming languages.
- Comprehensive understanding of software architecture and best practices.
- Experience with AWS deployment.
- Familiarity with payment processing systems.
