Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Greater Peace Community Development Corp. As a Preschool Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and engaging environment that promotes the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of our young students.

As a Child Development Specialist, you will design and implement a well-balanced program of activities that support the individual and group needs of our children. You will also be responsible for supervising children to ensure a safe and healthy experience, and for maintaining a professional attitude and a sense of ethical responsibility at all times.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement a well-balanced program of activities that support the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of our children.
  2. Design and maintain an environment that provides for free exploration and curiosity, and problem-solving opportunities.
  3. Supervise children to ensure a safe and healthy experience.
  4. Assume an equal share of the joint housekeeping responsibilities.
  5. Conduct classroom observations and child assessments to ensure that the program is meeting individual and group needs.
  6. Maintain a professional attitude and a sense of ethical responsibility at all times.
Requirements
  1. Knowledge and experience in developmentally appropriate practice.
  2. Experience working with diverse populations in a culturally sensitive manner.
  3. Strong interpersonal and professional skills.
  4. Excellent customer service skills.
  5. Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
  6. Ability to communicate effectively with staff and parents.
Qualifications
  1. Meet DHR Requirements.
  2. A minimum of 2 years paid preschool teaching experience with children 2-4 yrs.
