This role provides high-level legal support to strategic business units at General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems. The successful candidate will safeguard our reputation by ensuring compliance with applicable laws, providing counsel to senior leadership, and maintaining operations within the scope established by law.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure the organization's compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Develop and review organizational policies, practices, and guidelines.
- Protect the organization's legal interests and maintain its operations within the scope established by law.
- Provide counsel to senior leadership on relevant issues.
- Identify and analyze legal issues, draft key documents, present clear recommendations to top management, and assure legal compliance.
- Assist or represent the organization in business negotiations.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and State Bar membership required.
- 10 to 12 years of experience in relevant fields is required.
- Government Contracts experience is preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in compliance management, due diligence, and issue resolution.
- Knowledge or experience with litigation case management, negotiation, operations management, regulatory environment, regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, legal advising, corporate governance, and Legal Case Management Software.
