About the Role:
- Coordinate the activities of the nursing unit to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
- Assist with admissions, discharges, transfers, and changes within the unit using electronic patient tracking systems and medical records.
- Perform a variety of office, secretarial, and related duties to support the nursing unit.
- Manage intake and outbound documents, and maintain accurate records.
- Assist with patient care activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, mobility, and comfort.
- Coordinate daily patient care activities and assist nursing staff with admissions, discharges, and transfers.
- Order, stock, and replenish unit supplies and equipment in a cost-efficient manner.
- Participate in budget preparation and assist with maintaining unit financial responsibility.
- Facilitate communication among visitors, employees, and physicians within the assigned unit.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and healthcare team members.
Responsibilities:
- Welcoming visitors to the unit and providing directions and information as needed.
- Answering telephone calls and directing inquiries to the appropriate department or staff member.
- Maintaining unit-specific records and reports, including unit log books and staffing sheets.
- Documenting care provided using worksheets and electronic medical records.
- Adhering to professional standards, behavioral standards, and hospital policies.
- Maintaining confidentiality and protecting personal healthcare information of all patients.
