Job Title: Screen Technician

At Spartech, we are seeking a skilled Screen Technician to join our team in Crawfordsville, IN. As a Screen Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our screen printing operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up screens for screen presses, ensuring accurate and efficient production.
  • Wash and coat screens using emulsion removers and coatings, maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Inspect art and determine the proper mesh and emulsion to produce high-quality products.
  • Stretch and tension screens, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Determine correct exposure time and shoot screens, ensuring accurate and efficient production.
  • Dress screens with tape and block out for appropriate screen images.
  • Closely check finished screens against film positives, ensuring high-quality standards.
  • Repair and maintain screen frames for reuse, cleaning frames and replacing clips as needed.
  • Assist Press Operators with screen repairs and maintenance.
  • Train and direct activities of those temporarily assigned to assist screen making.
  • Update work center records, logging in art, ink, and sheet, and properly filing each.
  • Accurately report all direct and indirect labor activities.
Requirements:
  • Screen printing experience preferred but not required.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Able to read and use a tape measure and micrometer.
  • Frequently lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Able to use a hand truck to move materials.
  • Able to stand for extended periods.
  • Able to work around inks and cleaning chemicals.
  • Able to wear appropriate PPE – goggles, gloves, safety glasses, bump cap, hearing protection, and safety-toed shoes.
