Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a member of our surgical team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Function in the scrub role on surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile field and participating in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure the readiness of the operating room and maintain a professional work environment.
  • Participate in maintaining the readiness of the Operating Room and demonstrate accountability for own self-development.
  • Prepare and maintain the sterile field, ensuring a safe and efficient surgical environment.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist Program.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist certification from the NBSTSA within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to work well with internal and external customers, fine motor skills, and ability to wear a surgical mask and gloves.
  • Auditory skills which allow incumbent to hear individuals whose speech may be muffled, CPR certified.
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions and in difficult situations, may be exposed to hazardous materials and life-threatening diseases.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and day of the week, including holidays and take call as needed.
