Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified Speech Language Pathology Assistant to join our team at Oklahoma City Public Schools. As a key member of our special education services department, you will work closely with supervising speech language pathologists to provide intervention and support to students in various school settings.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and implement activities and materials to address IEP goals. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate therapy records and communicating effectively with educational staff, parents, and other professionals.

This is a full-time position working 181 days per year, with a Classified Support Schedule 156, Step 5+ salary range. The FTE is 1.00, and the job is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FSLA).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide educationally necessary intervention in the area of communication skill development under the direction of a supervising speech language pathologist.
  • Develop and implement activities and materials for teaching and practice skills to address IEP goals.
  • Maintain accurate therapy records, including documentation, schedules, progress notes, IEPs, and monthly reports.
  • Communicate effectively with educational staff, parents, caretakers, and other professionals concerned with a student's educational program and progress.
Requirements:
  • Completion of an Associate's degree SLP-A program or Bachelor's degree and completion of SLP-A modules from an accredited college or university.
  • Current license awarded by the Oklahoma Board of Examiners for Speech Pathology and Audiology.
  • Successfully completed the academic requirements and clinical experience of an SLP-A program.
  • Experience working with disabled children.
Salary and Benefits:
