Building Official

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Official to join our team at SAFEbuilt. As a key member of our community development team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of building services to our clients.

• Act as the Designated Building Official for multiple communities, ensuring compliance with local building codes and regulations.
• Provide leadership and oversight to staff, directing daily activities and ensuring the department operates within budgetary parameters.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and code interpretations to ensure consistency and accuracy in department operations.
• Perform plan reviews and field inspections of residential and commercial construction projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
• Interact with the public, explaining technical information and providing guidance on building codes and regulations.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation, including inspection reports and test results.
• Stay up-to-date with changes in building codes and regulations, ensuring the department remains compliant and effective.

• MN Building Official Certification required.
• MN Department of Labor and Industry approval for the performance of inspections and plan review on public buildings and State-Licensed facilities, or willingness to diligently obtain such approval required.
• Experience in field inspections and plan review of residential and commercial projects required.
• MN Driver's License required.
