Fitness Center Manager
The Fitness Center Manager plays a crucial role in advancing the mission, vision, and values of HealthSource Solutions, LLC. This position requires a strong familiarity with the company's policies and procedures, as well as a commitment to customer satisfaction through direct interaction with fitness center members, including students and faculty.
This role encompasses the management of fitness center operations, which includes supervising staff, overseeing facility maintenance, developing and enforcing policies, and promoting the center's services effectively.
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week with varying hours. Desired availability includes early morning shifts (6-7 am) on 2-3 days and late evening shifts (6-8 pm) on 2-3 days.
Qualifications:
- Education: A bachelor's degree in health promotion, kinesiology, exercise physiology, recreation, or a related field is essential.
- Experience: A minimum of three years in a relevant field is required, with a preference for experience in higher education settings.
- Special Knowledge:
- Ability to lead diverse group exercise classes is mandatory.
- Strong technical expertise in exercise prescription and education.
- Comprehensive understanding of general health topics and worksite health promotion strategies.
- Proficiency in standard office software (e.g., MS Office) and specific fitness center software is necessary.
- Certifications:
- CPR/AED Certification is required.
- Group Exercise Certification is preferred (e.g., ACE Group Exercise Instructor or specialized formats like Zumba, Spin, Barre, Yoga).
- Fitness/Health-Related Certification from a recognized body is preferred (e.g., ACSM Personal Training, ACE Health Coach, NSCA CSCS, NASM CES).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning and execution of fitness center programs and activities, including coordination of intramural events.
- Provide personalized exercise education and coaching to members, including Inbody Assessments.
- Deliver group health and fitness educational programs and behavior change initiatives.
- Integrate fitness center initiatives with broader health programming.
- Conduct a variety of group fitness classes.
- Oversee the fitness center and pool, ensuring equipment maintenance and facility cleanliness.
- Implement member management procedures for the fitness center.
- Promote the center and represent it positively in all interactions.
- Supervise health professionals, including student lifeguards, intramural specialists, and group exercise instructors.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives for the fitness center.
- Ensure the safety of members and the fitness center services team.
Position descriptions may be adjusted to meet the needs of HealthSource Solutions, LLC or its clients. Additional tasks may be assigned as necessary.
- Salary Range: $52,000 - $56,000
