Job Overview

Compensation: $14-18/hour

Position Summary

The Camp Counselors at Parkview Kids are dedicated individuals who play a crucial role in fostering a vibrant, secure, and engaging environment for children to explore their faith and build relationships. They are responsible for guiding small groups, orchestrating camp activities, and ensuring the well-being of all campers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee a small group of elementary-aged campers on a weekly basis.
  • Establish and nurture positive relationships with both campers and their families.
  • Facilitate spiritual growth among campers.
  • Assist in the planning, setup, and execution of daily camp activities.
  • Engage in staff meetings and ongoing professional development.
  • Support and mentor volunteers throughout the camp experience.
  • Contribute to the daily upkeep and maintenance of the camp facilities.
  • Participate in extended care duties at least 1-2 times during the summer.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Prior experience working with children in a volunteer or employment capacity is preferred.
  • Availability for staff training and a minimum of four camp weeks.
  • Willingness to adhere to the policies and procedures set forth by Parkview Community Church and Parkview Kids Camp.
  • A committed and growing follower of Jesus.

Reporting Structure

This position reports to the Program Director and is categorized as Full-Time, Hourly, Seasonal Staff.
