Roles & Responsibilities:
- Conduct diagnostic examinations to evaluate cardiac structures and hemodynamics following established protocols.
- Prepare and calibrate imaging equipment and manually adjust transducers to execute exams.
- Implement safety protocols and perform necessary quality control measures.
- Execute both routine and advanced studies while assisting in various imaging procedures.
- Identify significant anatomical structures, artifacts, pathologies, and limitations of equipment.
- Accurately position patients and select appropriate anatomical and technical parameters.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory agency standards in all activities.
- Guarantee timely submission of high-quality images and documentation to PACS, ensuring image quality, correct lead markers, and patient data/history.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and film storage areas.
- 2 years of experience as an Echocardiographer RDCS with BLS, sharing daily on-call duties, including weekends and holidays.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Certification as a Principal Investigator (CPI) from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Excellent technical skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Commitment to patient care.
- Minimum of two years of current ECHO Tech experience.
- Graduate from an accredited Sonography program with an active, unencumbered Sonography/Echo Tech Illinois state license.
- One year of experience with Epic.
- COVID vaccination with two shots and a booster.
- Maintains and enhances clinical knowledge and skills.
- Engages in relevant continuing education programs.
- Dedication to providing the highest level of patient care and service excellence.
- Ability to take initiative and exercise independent judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- A collaborative, team-oriented attitude is essential, with the ability to work independently and interact effectively with physicians, managers, and staff across the department and hospital.
