R+L Carriers is seeking an Operations Manager to effectively plan, organize, manage, and oversee service center operations. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth running of our service center operations, which encompasses customer service, operational management, and staff supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage front-line supervisors, drivers, and freight handlers
  • Mentor, train, and develop team members
  • Maintain optimal staffing levels for dock, linehaul, and city operations
  • Develop and execute action plans to achieve productivity and service objectives
  • Oversee safety, security, and loss prevention protocols in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment for all employees
  • Enforce quality freight handling practices
  • Interpret and uphold service center work instructions and company policies.
  • Guarantee timely dispatch of LTL loads
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Service Center Manager

Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership experience in a fast-paced environment is essential.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and logistical skills with effective problem-solving capabilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the LTL industry, including DOT regulations, OSHA laws, and hazardous materials regulations.
  • Familiarity with quality freight handling techniques is preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of local geography and surrounding areas is advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Significant operations management experience within the LTL sector is STRONGLY preferred.
