Clinical Medical Assistant

The Clinical Medical Assistant will work interdependently with other healthcare professionals to provide quality patient care. This role requires a strong foundation in both administrative and clinical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Patient Satisfaction & Responding to Patients: Schedule time off, limit unscheduled absences, respond to telephone inquiries, return patient calls promptly, and notify patients of test results in a timely manner.
• Service: Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and give follow-up injections as needed. Greet and arrive patients, follow patient verification protocol, provide high-level customer service, and accurately obtain and record medical histories.
• Quality: Accurately document patient history, injections, and patient education. Input charges, notes, etc. into TouchWorks per policy. Maintain rooms, equipment, and supplies. Clean rooms and change linens per clinic policy.
• Safety: Follow OSHA guidelines, universal precautions when caring for patients, and provide wheelchairs and assist patients with ambulation as needed.
• Finance: Assist with maintaining established par levels on regularly used supplies, avoid over-night items, and maximize downtime completing tasks during busy clinics.
Requirements:
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program
• Current Certification or Licensure with no restrictions
• Current BLS Certification
• Knowledge of infection control, sterile technique, and basic health and safety precautions applicable for work in a clinic setting
• Ability to stand for up to eight hours a day, bend, reach, squat, kneel, move, lift patients and/or equipment up to 35 lbs.
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to relate sensitively to patients' needs, and maintain confidentiality. Uses discretion and sound judgment.
