MRI Imaging Specialist

Position Overview: This role involves conducting MRI examinations under the supervision of a radiologist and guidance from a senior MRI Technologist. The individual will collaborate with imaging personnel, nursing staff, physicians, patients, and visitors, serving as a knowledgeable resource for MRI technical matters and adhering to established protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate MRI machinery and related equipment efficiently.
- Prepare the scanning environment, including equipment, supplies, and medications.
- Maintain and archive patient images and associated data.
- Assist with additional tasks as required.
Experience Requirements: A background of one to three years in a similar role is preferred.
Educational Qualifications: A graduate from a JCERT accredited two-year or four-year program in radiologic technology, nuclear medicine, or MRI is essential. A degree in radiologic technology, healthcare, business, or a related field is preferred.
Training Requirements: Successful completion of a cross-sectional anatomy course is mandatory.
Special Skills: Proficiency in IV insertion and contrast administration is required, along with the ability to integrate new procedures into daily tasks.
Licensure: ARRT registration is required, with advanced certification in ARRT-MR to be obtained within 18 months of employment. BCLS certification is necessary within 90 days of hire. A Wisconsin state license in Radiologic Technology is required if the role involves CT, general radiography, or other imaging modalities using ionizing radiation; however, it is not necessary if the focus is solely on MRI and/or Ultrasound.
