About the Role

As a Product Development Engineer at EVAPCO, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for developing innovative technologies to meet the evolving needs of our global customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing critical engineering tasks related to new product development, maintaining existing products, and providing support to all areas of the company.

We are seeking a self-motivated engineer with excellent written and verbal communication skills, who can build relationships with global Evapco team members, represent the company in industry organizations, and occasionally support customers through virtual and onsite assistance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • New Product Research and Development:
    1. Designing, programming, and implementing control systems for production units.
    2. Interaction with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), and Building Automation Systems (BAS).
    3. Creating certified drawings, project-specific production drawings, electrical schematics, and bill of materials.
    4. Developing and updating documentation for internal and external distribution.
    5. Coordinating with other Evapco facilities to update and create part specifications for components used in control systems.
    6. Planning, overseeing, and executing tests on alternative electrical components before implementation on production units.
    7. Preparing technical reports and summaries of R&D tests.
    8. Providing international support for control systems, including working with third-party suppliers in other regions.
    9. Supporting the R&D facility with controls-related questions, troubleshooting, new test apparatus, and lab expansion projects.
    10. Collaborating with other departments to build consensus across organizational boundaries for new product development.
    11. Participating in industry organizations to assist with test code and certification program development.
  • Marketing and Application Assistance:
    1. Supporting Marketing in answering customer questions and other requests.
    2. Occasionally traveling to customer job sites to conduct start-up, commissioning, and troubleshooting of installed equipment.
    3. Developing solutions to customer requests for modifications or additions to control systems.
  • Production Assistance:
    1. Supporting Evapco facilities on projects related to production scheduling, production questions, and factory testing.
    2. Training factory technicians on proper procedures for building and testing control systems.
    3. Coordinating and supporting field technicians during start-up, commissioning, and troubleshooting of installed equipment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical.
  • Excellent professional communication skills, strong attention to detail, consistent follow-through, and reliable documentation skills.
  • The preferred candidate has 2-5 years of engineering experience, but college graduates seeking an entry-level position are also considered.
Location:
  • The position is based in York, PA, with occasional visits required to the Taneytown, MD Evapco headquarters facility.
  • Candidates should expect travel of 10-15% of the time to various conferences, customer locations, job sites, and manufacturing facilities.
Compensation:

A competitive base salary of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, plus profit sharing, excellent benefits, and an ESOP program.
