Overview

At Northern Impact, we are seeking a highly skilled Project Architect to join our team in Mountain View, San Francisco, or Sacramento office. Our studio specializes in the design of laboratories, clean rooms, manufacturing facilities, data centers, and high-performance workplace environments for clients working in the life sciences, electronics, mission-critical, education, and medicine.

With 180+ staff, we provide programming, master planning, building, and interior design services, including laboratory, cGMP, and medical planning, to new and established companies, institutions, developers, and healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively with confidence and professionalism.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Proven capacity for leadership responsibilities and directing a team.
  • Ability to work effectively on multiple projects, to set priorities and maintain schedules.
  • Design development experience, planning, coordinating and overseeing production of construction drawings.
  • Experience with the entire project lifecycle, through post-occupancy.
  • Contract management, experience negotiating project scope and fees.
  • An understanding of building materials, details, and construction techniques.
  • A thorough knowledge of building codes, standards, and ADA expertise.
  • Knowledge of sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines.
  • Advanced knowledge of QA/QC process.
  • Ability to work constructively with entitlement agencies.
  • Ability to coordinate consultants and contractors.
  • Construction administration skills.
  • Maintain existing client relationships and build new client relationships.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, PhotoShop, Microsoft Office Suite, and Bluebeam.
