Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Bioinformatics Programmer to join our team at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). The successful candidate will have a strong background in bioinformatics, molecular biology, or computer science, and excellent programming skills in Python and R.

Key Responsibilities

">
  • Carrying out data analysis on bulk cell and single-cell RNA-seq projects
  • Analyzing ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq, whole-genome sequencing, and other NGS approaches
  • Developing novel workflows for NGS sequencing analysis
  • Communicating and providing results to researchers using the core
  • Providing bioinformatic support during sequencing QC
  • Supporting research efforts of labs utilizing next-generation sequencing technologies

Requirements and Qualifications

">
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in molecular biology, bioinformatics, computer science, or related field
  • Minimum 1 year of directly related experience
  • Knowledge of molecular genetic principles
  • Proficient in Python and R
  • Strong consultation and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills for working in a multidiscipline and collaborative team
  • Experience with next-generation sequencing (NGS) methodologies and applications
  • Experience in Linux/Unix systems

Compensation

The estimated annual salary range for this position is $75,700 - $104,400, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
