Job Description

An exciting opportunity is available for a skilled Vocational Truck Assembler to join the Manitowoc team in Davenport, IA.

About the Job:

The successful candidate will be responsible for building various types of vocational trucks through assembly, hydraulic, 12v electrical, and fabrication skills. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, technical understanding of hydraulics, electrical systems, and primary functions of commercial truck equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build vocational trucks through assembly, hydraulic, 12v electrical, and fabrication skills.
  • Read blueprints, diagrams, and instructions to accurately assemble components.
  • Attend pre-install meetings and follow installation procedures and established standards.
  • Utilize various power tools as needed for builds, including drill, impact wrench, air ratchet, grinders, iron worker, etc.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to company safety policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical college degree desired.
  • 2-5 years' experience in field service of heavy equipment desired.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, technical understanding of hydraulics, electrical systems, and primary functions of commercial truck equipment.
  • Able to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range: $60,000 - $80,000 per year.
  • $3,500 sign-on bonus payable after 90 days continuous service.
  • Eligible for Tool Reimbursement Program of up to $1,500 per calendar year.
