Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our team at Amedisys Inc. as a Home Health Care Specialist. As an LVN, you will play a vital role in providing patient-centered care in the comfort of their own homes.
Responsibilities- Verify plan of care with the RN prior to each visit to ensure patient needs are being met.
- Collaborate with physician and RN frequently to ensure patient needs are being met; notify them as soon as possible when patient condition changes.
- Teach patients and caregivers self-care techniques to promote independence and improve quality of life.
- Check vital signs and review all medications to ensure patient safety.
- Perform specialized procedures ordered by physician, such as foley catheter changes, using aseptic technique.
- Prepare equipment and materials for treatments and complete documentation timely and accurately.
- One year of clinical LVN experience.
- Current LVN license, specific to the state(s) you are assigned to work.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and liability insurance.
