About the Role

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate the effectiveness of care.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals, and provide education and support to patients and families.
  • Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving: Anticipate and recognize changes in patients' conditions, take appropriate actions, and collaborate with other healthcare team members to coordinate patient-centered care.
  • Leadership and Teamwork: Demonstrate leadership skills, delegate tasks effectively, and promote a culture of safety and respect within the team.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing education and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Licensure and Certification: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the state in which you practice, and Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Education: Completion of an accredited or approved program in Nursing.
  • Experience: Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing.

  • Computer Skills: Proficient in using electronic medical records systems and other healthcare technology.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop rapport and maintain positive relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Leadership and Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate with others, with a focus on patient-centered care and teamwork.
