Conducts an Occupational Therapy program which facilitates rehabilitation of the physically and/or mentally handicapped.
Responsibilities- Develops and implements an Occupational Therapy program designed to help patients gain physical and/or mental functioning to become more self-reliant.
- Provides Occupational Therapy treatment through the use of various techniques, including splinting, range of motion, muscle strengthening, and activities of daily living.
- Collaborates with other healthcare team members to select the most appropriate program consistent with the needs and capabilities of each patient.
- Adapts programs according to the patient's capabilities and evaluates their progress, attitudes, and behavior as related to the rehabilitative potential.
- Confers with the attending physician, reports the patient's progress, and maintains records.
- Provides family members with information and support to adjust to the patient and help facilitate recovery.
The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department's identified patient ages.
Specifically, the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients.
Common Duties and Responsibilities- Maintain and document all applicable required education.
- Demonstrate positive customer service and co-worker relations.
- Comply with the company's attendance policy.
- Participate in the continuous, quality improvement activities of the department and institution.
- Perform work in a cost-effective manner.
- Perform work in accordance with all departmental pay practices and scheduling policies.
- Perform work in alignment with the overall mission and strategic plan of the organization.
- Follow organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree (Required)
- Occupational Therapist, Licens (Required)
- Basic Life Support (Required) Within 30 days of hire
