About the Role

Amergis is seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team. As a Mammography Technologist, you will play a critical role in the early detection of breast cancers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate mammographic radiographic equipment and other devices as necessary
  • Explain procedures to patients and answer any questions or concerns
  • Position patients and use immobilization when necessary
  • Calculate exposure factors and assist physicians
  • Perform quality control functions related to mammography
  • Evaluate radiographs for diagnostic quality and obtain additional images as needed
  • Prepare and set up medical supplies using aseptic techniques
  • Develop mammography film and match it with the appropriate paperwork for interpretation
  • Assist in maintenance and compilation of statistical data
  • Adhere to all Amergis and worksite rules, policies, and procedures
Requirements
  • Current State License or Certificate in the state where you will be working
  • One (1) year of experience as a Mammography Technician preferred
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to accurately communicate with patients
  • Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice
  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals
  • Computer proficiency required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • BLS, ARRT
  • The techs must be ARRT (R)(M) credentialed (ARRT Mammo certified)
  • VA Licensure in hand
  • No Dysrhythmia exam
  • Experience in procedures such as Stereotactic Breast Biopsy and Breast Localizations is a plus but not required
