Job Summary: The Uintah School District seeks a highly skilled Speech Language Technician to join our team. This full-time position will work with both the general education and special education population with language handicaps, articulation deficits, dysfluencies, and voice disorders.

District Expectations: As a resource to school staff members, you will develop a balanced program for oral communication and speech improvement. You will assist and guide teachers in observing, describing, and referring suspected and identified speech and language impairments. Additionally, you will provide thorough assessments and diagnoses of speech, voice, and language impairments, as well as screenings to identify speech handicapped children at regular intervals and levels.

Responsibilities:

  1. Serves as a resource to school staff members in the development of a balanced program for oral communication and speech improvement;
  2. Assists and guides teachers in observing, describing, and referring suspected and identified speech and language impairments;
  3. Provides a thorough assessment and diagnosis of speech, voice, and language impairments;
  4. Provides screening to identify speech handicapped children at regular intervals and at specified levels;
  5. Collaborates with classroom teachers and other school staff members to implement therapy by suggesting activities for students; and
  6. Provides information, support, and counseling to parents and families when necessary.


Requirements: We are seeking an individual with a High School diploma/GED and a Bachelor's Degree in Communication. Experience working with children and adults is preferred.

Estimated Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 per year. This estimate is based on national averages and may vary depending on location and experience. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
