Gymnastics Coach

We are seeking a skilled Gymnastics Instructor to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Hartford. As a Gymnastics Instructor, you will be responsible for providing high-quality gymnastics instruction to participants of different ages, ensuring they thrive and are successful within the program.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Monitor gymnastics activities, intervening to correct technique where necessary.
2. Observe and spot athletes as they perform on various apparatus.
3. Create and maintain positive relationships with participants, aiming to encourage a positive attitude.
4. Teach skills at each apparatus, following proper progressions set in place by the Head Coach and Program Director.
5. Maintain facility cleanliness, including bathrooms, sitting areas, and equipment.
6. Prepare lesson plans for recreational classes in conjunction with the Head Coach.
7. Attend meetings pertinent to the position.
8. Complete student attendance, assessments, and timesheets on time.
9. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

• Ability to think creatively and with an open mind.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to walk, stand, and sit (including on the floor) for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift and/or assist children up to 30 pounds in weight.
• Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.
