Key Responsibilities
Ensure safe operations in accordance with established health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) protocols.
Diagnose and rectify mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical system issues.
Employ schematics for effective maintenance and repair tasks.
Implement original equipment manufacturer (OEM) troubleshooting and diagnostic methodologies.
Conduct thorough analysis of major components, including removal, disassembly, or replacement as necessary.
Maintain a tidy work environment and adhere to housekeeping standards.
Perform additional responsibilities as required.
Required Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent certification.
Minimum of two years of experience in forklift repair.
Strong understanding of hydraulic systems.
Must possess a personal set of basic tools for job execution.
Valid driver's license.
Skills and Competencies
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
Proficient troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities.
Familiarity with forklift and hydraulic equipment design and functionality.
Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Ability to follow instructions, respond to management guidance, and take ownership of tasks, ensuring timely completion or communication of alternative plans.
Commitment to treating colleagues with respect, honoring commitments, and maintaining integrity and ethical standards.
Basic understanding of out-of-service conditions.
Excellent communication skills, encompassing verbal, written, and listening abilities.
Work Environment
The role involves frequent exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical components, and vibrations. The work environment may be loud, and mechanics utilize various power and machine tools, including pneumatic wrenches, lathes, grinding machines, and welding equipment. Hand tools such as pliers, sockets, ratchets, and screwdrivers are also commonly employed. Employees may encounter diverse weather conditions, including cold, heat, snow, wind, and rain.
