B&F Contracting is seeking a proficient Construction Equipment Specialist to enhance our workforce. In this role, you will be tasked with the operation and upkeep of various construction machinery, ensuring all tasks are performed safely and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate diverse construction machinery for underground utility operations
- Prioritize safety by identifying and mitigating potential risks and obstacles
- Conduct underground service location prior to commencing work
- Execute trench digging and backfilling activities
- Establish accurate grades and elevations
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Comply with safety regulations and organizational policies
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in operating heavy machinery
- Familiarity with the installation of sewer, water, and utility conduits
- Knowledge of construction safety protocols and OSHA standards
- Willingness to work during nights, weekends, and overtime as required
- Physical capability to lift heavy materials and work outdoors
Work Environment
As a Construction Equipment Specialist, you will frequently encounter moving mechanical components, various outdoor weather conditions, and elevated noise levels. Exposure to extreme temperatures may also be a consideration in this position.
