Key Responsibilities:- Project Management: Lead and manage heavy civil engineering projects, including marine construction, bridge construction, ventilation systems, railroad infrastructure, and sewer/drain/water utilities.
- Design and Planning: Collaborate with project teams to develop detailed engineering designs and plans, ensuring they meet all regulatory and safety requirements.
- Site Supervision: Oversee construction activities on-site, coordinating with subcontractors, ensuring adherence to project specifications, and maintaining safety standards.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor project progress and quality, conducting inspections and ensuring that all work meets company and industry standards.
- Problem Solving: Identify and address engineering and construction issues as they arise, providing solutions to ensure project success.
- Documentation: Prepare and review engineering documentation, including reports, drawings, and specifications, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of project progress.
- Coordination: Work closely with project managers, architects, and other engineering professionals to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
- Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Heavy Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in heavy civil engineering, preferably with a focus on marine construction, bridge building, railroad infrastructure, or utilities.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in engineering software and tools, including CAD and project management software.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations, familiarity with relevant codes and standards.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
- Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, but not required.
