Job Title: Cardiovascular ICU Nurse

Epic Travel Staffing is seeking a skilled Cardiovascular ICU Nurse to join our team for a 13-week contract in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Cardiovascular ICU Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced ICU environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CVICU/CTICU and be proficient in Epic.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in the Cardiovascular ICU
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes
  • Monitor and manage patient vital signs, lab results, and medication administration
  • Perform advanced cardiovascular procedures, including arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and satisfaction
Requirements:
  • VA License
  • Electronic Documentation
  • 2 years experience in an CVICU/CTICU
  • Strong neuro experience (post brain surgery, EVD exp/ventriculostomy)
  • AHA ACLS
  • AHA BLS
  • NIHSS
  • Must be Epic proficient, no exceptions
  • Travel experience preferred
Unit Information:

The Cardiovascular ICU is a 8-bed unit that cares for post-operative CABG adult patients, acute coronary, NSTEMI, STEMI, and CHF patients. The unit uses a universal bed model, where ICU patients are downgraded to stepdown until discharge.
