Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team at the School District of Lancaster. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating and treating students with communicative disorders, providing support to our alternative education programs, and collaborating with district and community resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to determine the communication needs of students
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans to address identified communication needs
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to provide support and services to students
  • Participate in evaluation and re-evaluation meetings to provide families with understanding of the student's developmental history and communication needs
  • Consult with teachers and other professional staff about the communicative needs affecting students
  • Analyze and synthesize evaluation and re-evaluation data to plan and develop therapy plans and Individualized Education Plans
  • Case manage speech and language support-only evaluations, Individual Education Programs, and other necessary special education documentation
  • Conduct clinical therapeutic intervention based on the plan established in the Individualized Education Plan
  • Maintain accurate and orderly monthly therapy plans and schedule of therapeutic services
  • Assist staff in recognizing the impact of communication needs or differences on learning and behavior
  • Establish communication with community agencies and collaborate with district or community resources to coordinate referrals of students for necessary services
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Communicative Disorders/Speech Pathology
  • American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence (preferred) or Eligible for Clinical Fellowship Year
  • PDE Instructional II Certificate for Speech and Language Impaired K-12 or Educational Specialist for Speech Therapy Certification in Pennsylvania
