Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Aircraft Structural Mechanic II to join our team at The Structures Company. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assembling and fitting detail parts and structures while performing varied drilling and riveting operations to ensure that parts and assemblies meet requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and fit detail parts and structures while performing varied drilling and riveting operations.
  • Rivet structural assemblies and parts using necessary tools.
  • Demonstrate the ability to remove fasteners without damaging the structure.
  • Read work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches, and operation sheets to determine the sequence of operations.
  • Check all work to ensure a defect-free assembly prior to final inspection.
  • Maintain and utilize all logs and records.
  • Align and assemble parts to be riveted using jigs, holding fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners.
  • Make repairs according to Discrepant Material Tags, Material Review Requests, and Production Change Orders.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area and support the company's 5S Program.
  • Work effectively with minimal supervision on assigned duties and tasks.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Two (2) years of related structural assembly experience.
  • Experience with Solumina and Smarteam preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Skilled in close-tolerance work and knowledgeable in the use of special tools and equipment.
  • Proficient in using mathematical formulas to solve dimensional problems.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to read a scale and perform basic shop math.
  • Competence in reading and comprehending basic documents and instructions.
  • Strong personal skills, including an aptitude for hands-on craftwork, a professional attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively and meet demanding schedules.
  • Demonstrated good housekeeping and safety practices.
  • Ability to work with composite resins and materials.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work any shift.
  • Ability to climb ladders, stands, and stairs, and work in small spaces and/or restricted areas.
