Medical Specimen Collector

We are seeking a skilled Medical Specimen Collector to join our team at Quest Diagnostics. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for collecting and processing medical specimens for testing.
Responsibilities- Collect specimens from patients according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams.
- Administer oral solutions as required and accurately enter data into our laboratory information system.
- Verify patient information and test orders using our lab technology systems and approved tools.
- Process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport as required.
- Perform non-patient facing duties, such as inventory management, sanitizing equipment, and answering phones.
- Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
- Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical training, such as medical assistant or paramedic training, preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred, required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
- One year of phlebotomy experience and customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
