Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Service Engineer to join our team at Gleason. As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing GMS gauging equipment at customers' sites. You will also provide operator orientation and training on the equipment, as well as perform A2LA-accredited on-site calibration services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair GMS gauging equipment at customers' sites
  • Provide operator orientation and training on the equipment
  • Perform A2LA-accredited on-site calibration services
  • Maintain/develop positive customer relationships
  • Provide recommendations to customers about the repair/replacement of their machine and its components
  • Promote and provide recommendations to customers about additional products/services that are available to enhance or further their inspection capabilities
  • Provide customer feedback (VOC) for GMS, including sales leads for equipment, software, maintenance contracts, etc.
  • Submit expense and service reports by date/time required weekly, according to established company policy
  • Travel up to 95% of the time - both domestic and international
  • Provide continuous improvement suggestions to service processes/products
  • Provide in-house technical support, training, and phone support, as required
  • Assist in GMS production or other GMS activities, as required
Requirements
  • Broad background in a variety of skills, including mechanical, electrical, and computer skills
  • Ability to be highly adaptable and flexible in dealing with different control systems and computer systems used in the GMS Product line
  • Ability to effectively perform time management with minimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate well with customers and establish good customer relationships
  • Minimum of 2 years experience maintaining and operating similar machinery
  • Knowledge of major components systems of like machines
  • Training as an electronics technician, either in the military or vocational school, or an Associates Degree in Electrical and Electronic engineering
  • Further training in the GMS family of software and how to use it and train the customer
